Himalayan nettle is a natural fibre derived from the Himalayan nettle plant which has been used for centuries in the region for its strong and durable properties. Nettle fibres are harvested from the plant's stalks, then processed and spun into yarn. The resulting fabric is lightweight, breathable, and has a unique texture that adds character to the woven wrap.
The cotton/Himalayan Nettle blend picks out the intricate Hobbit Quest scene on a gorgeous gradation of blues and purples and has properties reminiscent of hemp or linen blends. Soft straight from the bag, it will soften even further, making it perfect for all ages. The unique blend gives this wrap a nice amount of grip and strength. It’s supportive for older children while still feeling thin and easy to tie.
The use of nettle promotes sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Nettle plants grow abundantly in the Himalayan region and require minimal resources and chemicals to thrive. Their cultivation and harvesting support the livelihoods of growers in well managed supply chains.

This clever design is set in Lake Town and tells the story of the Dwarves and Bilbo's journey to the Lonely Mountain (which you can see in the background) - they have passed through the Misty Mountains and it shows their escape from Mirkwood, down Forest River into the Long Lake in barrels.
The runes along the borders feature a quote from The Hobbit:
“May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks.”
The mirrored design features unique elements on each side, one representing day and the other night. If you look closely you can see Smaug in the sky and some of the characters and creatures that helped them like the Eagles, Beorn and Gandalf.
