Over the last few months, we have taken Oscha on tour, attending many Sling Shows in order to meet our wonderful customers. We have loved getting out and about in Scotland and revelling in the joy of babywearing. Here are some snippets to share with all you far-flung wrappers and educators to give you a wee taste of our tour.
Aberdeen Sling Meet:
Early on a gloriously sunny morning Hannah and Kira found themselves travelling up the East Coast by train for a fun sling meet in Aberdeen organised by Jess Hippey of Close and Calm
Not only were there lots of opportunity for trying wraps and baby carriers, getting advice and adjustments, but there were also homemade cakes and cookies provided too (Aberdeen photos courtesy of laughsandlenses.com)
We met some 'virtual' friends and enjoyed seeing babywearing starting young.
Baby Slings at the Secret Garden:
Only a few corners away from Oscha HQ is the lovely Secret Herb Garden where we organised a local sling meet.
Dr. Rosie Knowles has always been such a support for us at Oscha Slings and it's great that she is sharing her wisdom in her new book Why Babywearing Matters. We were very happy she was able to join us at the Secret Garden to offer advice and sign her book.
Rosie was in great demand all afternoon and was wonderful giving great babywearing advice to parents at our sling meet; here you can see her chatting with the mother of a very new baby.
Sling Show Scotland:
September found us close to home in Edinburgh at Scotland's first ever sling show - it was a busy day with a programme packed full of babywearing demos and talks. The Oscha stall had lots of goodies to chose from and a bargain basket for a fun rummage.
Zoe and Hannah ran a workshop explaining all the features which came out of the 18 months of development for both the Cairis and Coorie. After they had explained the differences and unique benefits of the carriers there was a chance to try them out ... some little ones even came to join in too!
Exclusive Show Wraps – Margeau Alba & Okinami Or
The show's wrap exclusive featured an Okinami and Margeau in deep purple and a gorgeous gold. These gorgeous colours were chosen by the Sling Show organisers, who did a fantastic job in running a well-planned show.
Carry On London:
This evening we are venturing south of the border and will be in London on Saturday at a show organised by Slinging London CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise promoting the use of slings to parents and carers.
New to baby Slinging or an experienced baby wrapper … this will be a great opportunity to come along and see what's out there; try something different, attend a workshop or two and meet lots of people who are passionate about the benefits of babywearing. Sling Consultants will also be able to build on their professional development by attending a CPD workshop and networking with other sling educators. Visit the show page.
There may even be a few pre-release items available at Carry On London from our Middle-Earth Collection - head to the Oscha stand in the Marketplace bright and early to catch a glimpse!
