This is your chance to have an Oscha item made just for you from this stunning fabric. Choose from any of our baby carriers, scarves, bags or keyrings. Our skilled seamstresses will then carefully craft your custom item especially for you. Some items are only available through Made to Order, giving you the opportunity to purchase a unique Oscha which may be one of a kind! It also helps avoid waste as we only make what is needed.

This is your chance to have an Oscha Onbuhimo Carrier made just for you! Choose from a range of beautiful jacquard woven sling fabrics and your carrier will be crafted by hand in our workshop near Edinburgh and sent out to you within 2-4 weeks.
The Onbuhimo is a simple carrier designed to be worn high on your back. It is intended for older babies and toddlers. Unlike full buckle carriers, it doesn't have a waistband. The straps attach directly to the base of the body panel. Baby's legs go through the strap loops and the panel forms a hammock underneath, holding baby securely to the wearer.
Key Features of the Oscha Onbuhimo Carrier
- Contoured straps with quilted padding, moulds to the wearer, no thick, stiff padding
- Perfect fit adjusters (PFAs) allow you to adjust the shoulder strap length further - this is especially helpful for petite wearers or those who need to adjust the carrier for use between 2 different sized users.
- Leg padding for your child's comfort
- An adjuster is built into the base of the carrier, this allows you to reduce the width of the carrier so it can fit babies or toddlers. This means the carrier grows with your child
- Ergonomic, hip healthy carrier - this carrier holds your baby in a 'spread-squat position', which is advised for healthy hip development
- Handmade in Scotland from specially British woven jacquard sling fabrics

What size is it for?
Because this is an 'arms out' carrier that is worn high on the back, you would need your baby to have full head control and to be able to sit unaided. The minimum age is around 4 months but it depends on your child. Many children will not be ready to sit unassisted until 5 - 6 months or older.
The upper age range for this carrier is 2 years. The full width available is 16"/40.5 cm.

The Oscha Onbuhimo meets safety standards (conforming to BS EN 13209-2:2005 & ASTM:F2236-14). It is made from responsibly sourced yarns which have been woven in the UK & is created in our Scottish workshop.
